Hauwa Imam (nee Ibrahim) is a Professor at the Faculty of Education, University of Abuja. She is a versatile, multi-disciplinary researcher. Her areas of interest include policy and social change, educational administration, gender, and marginalized youths, action research, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development. She has formed successful research partnerships as a member of a 15-man international network of scholars involved in cross-boundary studies. Imam has served as a consultant to the Federal Ministries of Education, Women Affairs and Social Development, National Planning as well as Youth Development in Nigeria at varying times.
She has held many leadership positions at the Faculty of Education, University of Abuja including as Director, Centre for Gender Security Studies and Youth Advancement. She has to her credit many refereed publications, children’s books, commissioned biographies, historical documentation, television soaps, and poems. She is a member of several professional associations with awards, including the Chartered Institute of Administrators (as a fellow), and Nigerian Association for Educational Administration and Planning (as the National President).
